Press Release: Old Jail Lane Road Closure
BARNSTABLE: The Highway Division announces that
Old Jail Lane in Barnstable will be closed to through
traffic beginning Monday November 8, 2004 for drainage
work.
Work will take place between the railroad tracks
and Route 6A. Residents will have access to their
homes at all times however, due to the narrow road
width, they may be detoured at times to Route 6A or
to Hyannis Road.
Drainage work will take place in two phases. Phase
I will be a drainage system just south of Route 6A.
The second drainage system will be installed near
the railroad tracks. It is anticipated that the road
will be open in the evening and during weekends. Completion
will be dependent upon conditions found in the field.
As always, motorists should seek alternate routes
if possible, expect brief delays and use caution when
driving through the work area.
CONTACT: Questions can be addressed to the Highway
Division at 508-790-6330.
